callahans kombi

Postby callahan » Thu Feb 02, 2012 7:19 pm

well im going to go for it this month.
this is my first bus. and going to be my first shot at any real metal work/replacement. my goal for the month is to get it off the dollies and back on to its own feet and some of the sheet metal replaced. the plan is for a super slammed ratty driver. but that is all subject to change. i ordered my sheet metal last night and am shipping my spindles to nate in the morning. also have early bay window parts and bug tranny for irs swap which i am a bit nervous about ha. planning on hitting it hard tomorrow after work and saturday
on with some pics

There should be a coffee table book of bus hacks.

Looks like a 63 sheep dog that was on Dumb and Dumber. Sweet period correct carpet though!

some progress today. mostly little stuff
engine hatch straightened out to a point. now closing all the way and latching with rear apron. front bumper installed. bay winder spring plates installed. rear corner cut out ready for new battery tray and corner. then some cleaning and wire wheeling on the beam. gonna hit it again tomorrow. was planning on doing some welding on the rear but someone broke a prong off of our extension cord for the welder and neglected to tell anyone ](*,)

Looks like bay window trailing arms. Might have bay springs in a splitty beam.
Let me draw you a fucking picture!
