My right front brake was making some noise.

I took it apart and the idiot who assembled the brakes put the springs in backwards and the springs broke and tore up the shoes. O:)

Do you think something about the metal in them made the welds weird?

Maybe Tool steel, chromoly, tempered or just contaminated from years of squishing and cutting organic jucies.

I would like to figure out what went wrong before I try to fix it. :-k

I want mine to look Half as good as Mr Jobe's.

Thanks boys \:D/

Matt dont worry about the metal. That shit will burn just as good as mild. Just crank you heat ALL the way up and work your puddle.

Clean the shit out of the metal before you weld it.
Plug directly into your outlet. extension cords kill your heat
Leaving a gap on the thick metal or 45ing the edges really helps our little 110v welders.

Ive been using 0.24" wire since ive been doing alot of sheet metal work.
But 0.30" gives you alot more control and can weld with more heat when doing overhead stuff like steering boxes. At least thats the case with my miller 140. If your upgrading dont buy a 110v welder. A miller 211 would help me so much. but since i have my sheet metal welder im just saving up for a 350P as i love pulse welding since its what i used primarly when welding for Welding shops or back when i was welding pipe for Valley.

I shortened my collium and installed my oil cooler and fan today. I'll post pics when i get done putting the new turbo on my wifes audi as along as i dont get too hammered on blue moon first.. O:)
