Postby Jobe » Thu Feb 02, 2012 11:31 am

I really need to finish this project before spring. So, im go to start by getting it driving again and take care of some loose ends.

I took the original engine out and put it in the 65' quicky project. so its currently not running anymore.

My goal for febuary on this project is.

finish assembly of my 1915cc and install it.
bleed the new brakes/send back junk new master cyl.
rebuild my headlight assemblys and replace tacky ebay h4 housings
build 5" beam,
Build flipped spindles,
paint the emblem and do up some pretty slash bumpers for it.
get heat working, the gas heater too.

and that handy dandy ice box is there. im missing the door table though..

Why is it/ what changed? as to why some so-42s had a sink, and others just had the facet?

Alot of you will remember my old retarded low 66 Standard "Scrubbin Bubble"

I learned a ton on that bus. alot of things im ashamed of, but Ultimatly it helped me get over my whole flipping stage. I Used to go through way too many cars. Im glad i saved alot. But what i would give to have any of the DC's or that 58' DD back.

Most importantly I realized what i wanted in a bus. I basicly wanted Scrubbin Bubble again but With the quality of work i wasnt capable of when i built that bus. and then camper interior so it could be useful to my family especially for the 600 mile drives back to see my family.

So Finally, heres my ideal foundation and canvas.

Lets build Scrubbin Bubble 2.0

I can tell you from my great wisdom of VWs that, that single IDF carb will not fit in that bus without cutting the supports in the engine bay. I love that bus by the way... \:D/

Thanks Wren, This ones actually not for sale, No for serious! Smile

I had that problem with the single idf in my low light. By ditching the stacks and going with a low profile filter i was able to get it to work. But id sure like to just get rid of the idf in favor of some 36's 40's or even a set of kads.

all you fuckers with buses are making me want one! I grew up in many acvw's but the one mom drove the longest was an early bay (68 or 69 can't remember) with a porshe 914 \:D/

dude are you employed? or is this what you do for work? you get way to much shit done :-k

bus looks like a killer platform! hope you are planing on having that fan balanced now after welding? the couple i've done have been TIG'd and just melted the tangs without adding any filler rod and they were out of balance!

I used to roll a early bay once apon a time. Thats really how i got stuck on type 2's Ive had splits, ovals, low lights, etc. But at the end of the day they still feel/drive like a car. Buses are fun and comfortable to drive slow or fast, or just sit in. Its two completly different experiences, imo. Smile

Yeah man, Thanks for the props, But building Aircooled isnt my hussle quite yet, my shop is my yard.. yop? It would be badass getting paid to do what you love. But so far Vivid entertainment hasn't called. \:D/ And the closest VW enthusiast i know is two and a half hours away ](*,)

I tried to make all of the welds the same size. but if it acts funky ill buy one of the welded/balanced ones from empi
