I put in a order today with Cip1 and detroit johnny for some needed parts. and yesterday i finished disassembling the body/interior/wiring etc.

Im going to hunt down some 60 grit disks tomorrow and get the body down to bare metal in a hurry.

Ive been so busy working on everyone elses stuff i havent had any time for personal projects. No worries, I'll be killing it again soon.

I finally got back on to this thing today. I stripped half the body, I need to pull the fenders, rear bumper, and taillights then get the rest stripped.

Heres where its at. I'm out of 9" sanding disks. so monday will be the next update.

Its in the high 40's and more importantly its DRY! I just left the auto body supply store with ammo to strip this pig and get some mud work knocked out.
I hope to get it in final prime before the weeks up. my goals got shit on this month, but i still have a car to finish. Expect progress today.

Drivers side stripped

Fenders stripped, off, and ready to bodywork.

I found some rust.
There was a few other spots that need attention but my camera died after these three pictures.

My beam parts should be here anytime. I have to build another beam, and find a interior, and wheels/tires since the "drive Quick" project borrowed all of that and more from this project.

I'll be on it again tomorrow afternoon as long as we dont have rain/snow/gail force winds like we've been getting. [-o<

Heres yesterdays progress. I had some help from my wife and son. Thats always a nice feeling to see them want to get involved. My son is not yet two and addicted to type 2's he can't fall asleep at night or go for a ride in the car without his orange kombi toy. Smile

damn dude... what was the temp when you sprayed that 2K.. I see the 4:1 on the can I assume it is a catalyzed urethane? Be careful spraying too cold you could have adhesion problems after cure if your spraying below 50 degrees or so.. hate to have to strip that bitch again ](*,) you definately got er scratched up enough though, you should be ok.

Yeah it warmed up to almost 50 for a couple days.

8ball I blocked it yesterday and its sanding good. Thats very true though. Id hate to strip it again.

Being outdoors I had to get it primed quick. but its straight so im only stripping a few areas to fill and then ill reprime those areas when i spray second prime today. Which reminds me. I gotta score some 180 grit before the supply store closes up for the weekend.

I really want to see color on the body before the contest ends.
[-o<

I have the whole afternoon to get shit done. So im out.
