brakes are done,
everything but headlights work, needs dimmer switch.
ran it through all the gears and everything seems to work there.
BUT, the radiator started leaking like hell, pulled it out and it has some rotten spots in the core.
the shop wants $300 to $400 to recore!
a new one is over $600 bucks!!!!
FOR A SIMPLE UPRIGHT RADIATOR!!!!
headed to Sumter to drop it off for a new core I guess.
spent the last two days looking all over for something reasonable for this thing, no luck...
Well at least the new owner wont have to worry about replacing the most expensive part on the vehicle.
hopefully we will still drive it before the end of the month, which was the goal in this build off.

What the hell? I bought a new Modine for a CJ just a couple of years ago for $140.
911 operator: What is your emergency ? Me: Some asshole just pulled out in front of me & totaled my car! 911: Are you injured? Me: No. 911: Is the other driver injured ? Me: Not yet....but you should probably send an ambulance.

It is going slower than I wanted but it still moved before the end of this month.
not going to win a Tshirt or anything but it will be a lot of fun once we get the bugs worked out and get some trail time with it.
Dad wants seatbelts in it so we can launch it over a berm out on the back 40.
bad ideas are always the best ones it seems....

I got the jeep to a running stopping vehicle from a graveyard turd.
If not for the radiator issue it would be finished and jumpin berms.
Although it didnt garner much attention from the forum it was still a blast to do a project with my dad, who I have lived away from for longer than this jeep was dead.
30 years.ago was our lastproject together and I am proud of the old man and this old jeep.
A 911 ENGINE REPAIR IS MY NEXT PROJECT ON THE LIST.

Radiator has been repaired!
Dad found an old school radiator guy in the next town over and he fixed it for $55 bucks!!
Dad was installing it today and the thermostat housing corroded itself off the block.
New neck on the way.....

Maybe I can drive it to Lamberts one weekend and Woody can come down.
We can pile in and hit all the dollar stores and sneak out later and steal some vintage VW headlights to add to Tims collection?
and Woody can bring his Sain poster collections with him.....

OH MY GOD THATS MY DREAM WEEKEND! The only thing that would make it better is if we had some Zima's with Skittles to put in them!
