1970 Transporter

Postby turner-vw » Tue Jan 20, 2015 10:55 am

Sold my 69 Bay awhile back and have missed it ever since. Recently I picked up a 70 Transporter that ran and drove but needed alot of TLC.

It's a 9 seater, but only had the 3/4 middle seat in it. I pulled and sold the interior in favor of a camper interior. I want to use this thing! Tires were totally shot, and since up is the new down I ordered up a set of 205/75R15 General Grabber AT2's to roll on. I have a set of BRM's that I'm hoping to use.

More to come!

Got the oil leaker pulled out to get it sealed up and tuned before putting it back in. Here are some pics after cleaning. Need to get the tins all cleaned and painted.

Nice. Westy interior or are you making your own interior?

Finally free'd up some much needed bus time and knocked a couple items off the ol' to do list. Got the motor re-sealed and painted the tins a bright green because I loved the contrast in JJ's bus.

After some help and guidence from everyone here I buffed the paint and put some shine back into it. Still some spots to touch up but it looks alot better.

It started as a Transporter but I want camper interior so I started installing it.
