Is it a driver? Super crazy how much the color changes depending on whether it's inside or outside?!?!?!?!?

Little more of a backstory.
Its a car that I have had for about 17 years. I got given it(Yes for free) by a lawyer in Palo Alto who had a Low mile Karmann Ghia and a Low mile ragtop. This was his "driver". A VERY rust free original Palo Alto car(Still has the original VW Porsche dealership sticker in the glovebox).
I did a mechanical restoration/ the interior in 2004. Then took off to Europe for a year, came back and sorted out the suspension and then drove it for a bit. Then on a way to a VW cruise I got rear ended by a super beetle. I took the insurance pay out and then decided to put it into a respray... and thats how the whole 8 year resto started. I'm trying to finish it up and have it on the road next year. Basically its a full pan off resto, with zinc treated hardware, powdercoat, 4 wheel disc brakes, built trans, 1914, and all the usual fixens. Basically its my "resto custom" What I always wanted to do with this car.

And yes if you haven't figured it out yet it was painted in a barn with a ton of really cool iron, a paint booth and did I mention the really cool other cars in there? And the guy who rents it, rents the whole place for like 100 bucks a month....

So I suffer from automotive ADD. Also I got stuck with a RHD truck that was very hard to sell and finally after many months and an uphill battle it sold and I got back to my roots. I also finally bought a home with a heated shop that I can work out of so things took a turn for the better.

Moving it in.

I had to pull the trans since one of the sideplates was warped and leaked like crazy. I'm still chasing some swing axle boot leaks till this day.

Went the LED route for the tails
Image

Discovered this on one of the front rotors(Still haven't replaced it)
Image

Then it was headliner time.
There is a whole bunch of stuff that I never thought would take that long with this car. However to do it right and have a nice fitment and not have it thrown together takes time. I could throw it together in a weekend If I wanted however I wouldn't be happy with the outcome.
Image

Decided now was the right time to fit the popouts
Image

Always looks good on aflatbed
Image

Image

Image

Image

Then the glass shop fiasco
Well they got the rear window in, and subsequently broke windshields... then stained the headliner...
