Jeremys next '59'

Postby jeremy » Mon Feb 01, 2016 5:02 pm

About 9 years ago I bought this '59 SC from Greg and Clara in Olympia, WA. Not exactly in my backyard (8hr drive with Seattle/Tacoma traffic) but no one wanted the poor thing and he was going to crush it so a deal was made for cheap.

After finishing the bug I told myself "no more rusty cars" and what do I do but buy the rustiest car I have ever seen. Better make sure my tetanus shot is current. ](*,)

Plans are an extreme "wife limitations" build. Make it solid and hotrod it. 7" bay window beam raise, narrowed 4". 2" trans raise with a 6" narrowed 2" raised bug torsion housing. Looks like it's going to be tight. Might even shorten it a little bit to make it look like a factory short box. I'm going to call it a rustoration not a restoration.

Check the settings in your Photobucket account... Maybe it's set to keep the pics very small. IDK :-k

All I did was click on the small picture you posted which took me to your Photobucket album of that pic. Then I copied the text in the "IMG" box and pasted into my post on your thread.

Alright. I finally got my hands on the camera. ](*,)

Been puttering around on the Single from time to time.

The bulkhead was pretty beat up so I cut it off and attempted to get it as straight as I could. Turned out alright.

Stripped off the deck and started cutting.

There wasn't much holding the box on and the plan is to shorten it a little bit so we just cut the box off completely.
