hehe. You kinda have to stand a good 20ft away to know what you're looking at in that pic Smile

Thanks for the break down on the sale logistics. I guess there's no way around it other than how it's been done all along.

I'll try to get a scan off my manual for the wiring diagram. Might help, hopefully.

Was this bus then originally yellow or green?

Ok, fixed the photo - I was posting from my phone before.

Yes, the bus was originally Sage Green, although it looks yellow to me behind the dash - weird.

I actually love sierra yellow buses. I'm guessing they replaced the nose?

I scanned the diagram off the Bentley. Not going to post the pic. It's a three page fold out and I scanned it pretty large for you to see the small details. I stitched all three images as best I could.
Try this link, you should be able to download it from there as well. It should work. If it doesn't. let me know.

Well I'm color blind, so telling green from yellow is tough for me, but yes that makes sense. That would make the bus originally Sage Green, but the nose replacement Sierra Yellow.

Unfortunately that means the M-Plate does not belong to my bus.

Thanks for the link. Electric diagrams give me a huge headache so not sure if it will help :)

Yeah - i have no idea where to start looking...

Took the dash apart today to install an electric pump & switch for the windshield washer to replace the leaking OEM system.

The wire that was off goes to the instrument cluster - looks like one of the idiot lights. I hooked it back up, not sure which light it was for.

Got the windshield washer pump working so I should be good for my safety check next week.

Unfortunately I broke one of the red heater handles re-installing. Pushed a bit hard on brittle plastic, so will have to find a replacement.

Canadian Tire - just bought a universal 12V windshield washer pump and a momentary push button switch.

You should be able to pick one up at any auto parts place: http://tricoproducts.com/Drivers/WiperP ... asherpumps

I mounted the push button in the dash to the left of the hazard lights switch. I'll post some pics tonight.

Got a bit of a scare this morning when I tried to get the plates for the Westy.

I had not noticed that the BC Vehicle Status was 'REBUILT'. While that means that in BC it was a write-off that was properly repaired and inspected, of course Ontario does not recognize that so wanted me to get a Structural Integrity Certificate (SIC), which apparently no body shop really wants to do.

Cost is $500 and apparently it's not just an inspection - the MTO insists that they (me) provide copies of the original accident report showing details of the damage and corresponding invoices for every part replaced that has to have the VIN # on them!

Since the vehicle was rebuilt by a PO before the owner I bought from, who knows where (if any) that would be.

I knew the vehicle was rebuilt, but wrongly assumed that Ontario would accept the BC status and just mark it that way.

(Certainly explains the yellow front end)

The good news is that I did a little research (Google is my friend), and found an obscure exemption in the Highway Traffic Act that exempts vehicles older than 1980 from the Status Assignment! Whew. Made it by two years.

Went to another MTO and did not have to pull out my copy of the HTA - they actually knew about the exemption!

I now have Ontario Plates, and ownership! They DID mark the ownership status as REBUILT, but I'm ok with that.

What a day! \:D/

That would be a little bit of stress #-o

Rebuilt titles suck! I bought a fancy infinity suv for my wife a few years ago....had a "cosmetic" write off. Story I got was a psycho ex went nuts on the car keying paint 360, slashing leather seats and smashing all glass. Got all repaired and re titled, I bought it for about 5k less than going market price and now can't get rid of the pos ](*,) anybody who looks at it high tails out of here once they hear the word "rebuild" :-# :-#

They don't recognize any other jurisdiction when it comes to vehicle branding / inspection.

What they do is they consider a 'Rebuilt' status in any other jurisdiction as 'Salvage' in Ontario, basically turning the clock back to when the vehicle was first written off and requiring all the documentation on damage and repairs and a full Structural Integrity Inspection.

It's actually worse for Motorcycles - they consider 'Rebuilt' statuses on Motorcycles to be 'Irreparable' in Ontario and can never be put on the road, so buyer beware!

Same probably goes if I ever sell the Bus now that it is an Ontario branded 'Rebuilt'. Other jurisdictions may require brand it 'Salvage' again.

Good thing I don't plan on selling it ever.
