So I picked up some QA1 coilovers for the Ghia. I'm hoping these will help with the hard squatting when the engine is boosting.

Put the engine back in and put it on the ground to see if the additional suspension was going to lift the car too much... and it did raise it up a bit. Im hoping once I'm driving the car again the springs will settle and the car gets back down to where it was before.

All that's really left to do is get a fuel cell and re work the radiator shroud thing, then I can drive it again!

I'm dealing with the same subi power problems, it dips hard when you get it on..
What size did you go with? Expanded and collapsed? What spring rate?

Since I'm still using the torsions, I went with a 9" collapsed 12" extended shock and 220lbs springs.

If it doesn't settle I might leave it for the cali tour this summer... But I also might swap out the springs to something shorter and just spin up the spring perch on the coil.

You wont go with a shorter spring, jus lighter. Still looks badass to me.

Ghia update!

The qa1 coilovers work amazing! I got some 7" springs and it brought the back end back down to where it should be. I took the stinger off and am just running the 2.5" pipe out the back, It sounds sooooo good and isnt even that loud!

This car is quick!

Got the new fuel cell in and strapped down with some more brown leather belts and then bent up some steel to seal off the radiator and other open areas under the hood. I just have to some seals and then I can coat the panels and it'll be done!

Im loving the ghia right now. I took it on the freeway here and got it up to 95mph, I could have kept going though, I was only hovering at 4000rpm and for cruising, at 70mph Im at 2700rpm. The Radiator is keeping the engine cool really well (when the water doesn't decide to leak out of it).

I put the rear bumper on the car yesterday then figured I can finally go take some photos of it again.

I put the swamp cooler together that I started a while ago.

It works great! It's just an air pusher right now and it still needs to be fully welded and then painted. I'm excited for actual air movement in the cab now!!!

Also having this on the car makes you drive slower! I'm afraid of it getting ripped off the car, even though I know it won't cause its mounted quite solid.
