If your not on the "apex" of the steering box, you will have excess steering play. If the steering box is adjusted too tight, you can feel the box get tight as it rotates towards the apex(center range of motion). You may have to adjust your tie rod lenghts so that the car rolls strait with the steering box centered.

Also, how is your rear toe measurement? Could be getting some rear-steer issues from that too.

Pretty sure Iv'e got the steering box centered. Start all the way one way. Count the turns all the way the other way and divide in half. Then turn it back that many turns. Sound right?

Rear toe is close to zero. If anything 1/8 toe in.

If you were closer to me id lend you a measuring jig I made up when aligning the Manx I built....worked mint! All it is is basically a slide rule built out of some 3"x1/2" ish pine and a couple 90 degree shelf brackets with bolts in the ends to clear the sidewall bulge and contact the lip of rim. I can try and snap a couple pics for u if I remember.....

Disconnect the pitman arm/tie rods so that steering stops don't alter your start/stop points.

Here she be....it was one of those late night experiment after spazzing out trying to jimmy rig strings to jack stands and fuck around....this contraption is quick and accurate.......sits flat on ground under lower radius of tire with the little red schibby extending out to contact lip of rim, read the tape, record and repeat for other side.....works titties!! I may or may not have been heavily under the influence scheming and making it :-#

Oh and try putting a bunch of layers of wax paper under the tires so when you are adjusting the tire isn't biting into the ground, fucking you up !

Are your IRS pivot bolts located at the apex of the torsion tube or are they slightly higher?
If they are not centered on the torsion tube you will get a lot of toe-in toe-out changes as the suspension travels.

Good question. I did install them with a jig I borrowed. I'm going to check that.

I was trying to do a test pics of the next project before I start a new build thread.

How do I post pics bigger than this one?
