Got it. Melted wires would be bad. Thank you.... But THIS, below, could be worse!!

I had the car runninig this morning while checking the lights. Maybe 20-30 minutes. I Didn't notice anything. I while later as I'm stepping out I walk by the car and see THIS!
It's coming out the breather tube. I start it up again and no leaks (other than a couple of drops that were probably still in there)
What could it be/have been??. Please don't say rings!! [-o< ](*,)

I just re-read this… Did that sound really asshole-lishly sarcastic? :-k I see how it might’ve. Sorry about that, it wasn’t meant to. I meant thank you for reaffirming that a fuse would be a good thing

Thanks, man. Really appreciate it. Hopefully I won't need anything, but will keep it in mind.

Finally made time to get around to this (the oil busting out of the breather tube). Oil level was high, which wasn't before. I could smell a little gas in the oil. So I decided to rebuild the fuel pump and put a gauge in it to see the pressure and it's a hair over 3psi. Question is: is it acceptable pressure? I remember reading it should be at about 2.6 (?) (stock 36er) and about shiming the pump to reduce pressure, is there an actual shim meant for this or just an extra gasket/s will do? I have a couple of gaskets. How much pressure does each gasket reduce, aprox? Where is it convenient that I ad the extra shim/gasket, between flange and case, or flange and pump?
Thanks!

I dont think I would worry about a the small amount of extra pressure.
but if you had fuel in the oil that would make it come out in places it normally wouldnt as it thins the oil

I'm not sure what the pressure was before rebuilding. Mightve been even more, who knows.
Do you -or anyone- know the operating pressure? I know 1/2 psi doesn't sound like much, but in the bigger picture IF the operating pressure IS in fact 2.6, 1/2 a psi is almost a 20% increase, it must have some effect, I'd imagine?

Well, I went ahead...
After 3 (maybe 4) tries, combining different gaskets...it's done, and pretty much right on. It's amazing how much of a difference the slightest difference in thickness from one type of gasket to another makes

Why buy when you can build?
I've spent hours on parts that you can buy for pennies.
