1965 Original Paint Beetle Wanted

Insurance came through on the garage fire. Of course it is only a fraction of what was lost, but I'd like to make the most of it. I'm on the lookout for an original paint 1965 Beetle. No repaints, no convertibles, no baja's. Any color except Panama Beige.

I *might* consider a 66 if it checks all the right boxes, but I'm pretty keen on a 65.

Thanks for looking.

Naw. I'm just messing with you. I saw your ad earlier on samba. I am in the same boat as you. It is the ugliest of the 65 colors, but when all patinad out and losing a big of the yellow/green tinge, its not terrible. But there is a reason why you never see people repainting their 65's that color.

I just can't do it! My first car was a Savannah Beige 67, I've never liked beige. Your car is definitely the best Panama Beige car out there.

See I am the opposite. I dig the beige's. For some reason I dig the subtle colors as it makes the cars look more simple. It depends on the stance and wheels though. I dig both Savannah Beige (67) and Sea Sand (66), but Panama Beige.....yeah......no. :-&

But to your original post, I like almost all of the other colors for 65-66. Sea Blue, Pearl White, Ruby Red, Java Green are all awesome colors in my opinion. But I am biased. I like 65-67 bugs.

Same here with the 65-67's. I like the airy feeling the bigger 65+ glass gives, but they are still old enough for classy details like early bumpers, steel dash, long hood, etc.

I haven't seen anything out there that catches my eye yet. Everything is either beat up and cheap or restored and they want $10k+ for it. I need to be patient but I know that money doesn't sit around for long, it will end up in a hundred other places by the time the right car comes along.

Thanks for keeping an eye out, but I'm looking for something a little (ok, a LOT) more complete and original than this...

Number matching pan and body, yes. Number matching engine would be a cool bonus, but not necessary. I don't care what the mileage is. Rusty pans aren't a big deal, but I'd like the outside body to be pretty rust free (I'm fine with replacing the package tray, body mounts, etc. if needed). As long as the interior is complete, I don't really care what the condition is (I know a guy). I don't want some super low mileage pristine original car that belongs in a museum or makes me feel guilty when I eventually modify it.

Nope!! Beige cars are for old folks!

Basically I want something that's worn, but not worn out. Something that hasn't been molested. I don't feel like this is a very tall order but I guess it is. :-({|=

I already contacted the owner of the white car, it's a repaint. That Sea Blue car looks like a total winner from here, I don't know how I didn't see that! Thanks for the link!
