That's a really neat setup. Is it run by a megasquirt?

I'm no turbo expert, but isn't the entire throttle body supposed to be encased to prevent pressure loss through the throttle body shafts?

I've been contemplating a waterboxer for my split with a small turbo...

CB. Same ECU as on Dan's Oval Rag.

Not sure on the encasement. Let's just call it my blow off valve.

When you test drive a 99 mexi beetle and find out it has a transmission noise. #-o
Image
After I spent some time removing-cleaning-fixing-installing the engine. The transmission was growling like a bad bearing or shelled R&P. Good new is that the oil leaks on the engine were fixed, but it still had a bad "tick" sound. Most likely due to a collapsed hydraulic lifter.

Gerhard asked what I thought of the engine. I told him about the tick, and that the mouse wedged between #3 and #4 probably caused it to overheat. If he wanted it to be 100% the engine would need love.

I have a pallet loaded for Painter's with Gerhard's engine and transaxle. We're going to switch the r&P in the transaxle for a 3.88 because this machine does a lot of interstate driving. I'm also thinking of bumping it up to a 1914cc "baby tractor" Because they run so good, and I think this style of fuel injection will support the extra HP gain due to the large throttle body.

Maybe Subaru parts could fix it?

Yeah. These Mexican taxi cabs are cooler than super beetles.

Yeah, according to paperwork this car is a 72 :-$ I think somebody drove a beater 72 over the boarder, swapped vin tags and drove a 99 back.

^^ awesome \:D/

Bit harder over here, a buddy has brought in a 2003 Ultimate edition with only 200mile on the clock.
Only to be told it can never be registered here, He has "Trade" plates so can just throw them on it to get around town.

More parkway junk.

My friend Rob's buggy, like all buggies, has wiring and shifting issues. It also has a brand new painter's rebuilt 40hp. I had to do some main jetting to get the 30/31 carb running right.

Motorhomers 67 beetle in for tow bar fabrication. The owner David is tired of crawling under the car to remove and install a standard tow bar. I'm going to make a mount that attaches at the beam bolts and sticks out directly under the front fenders.

Fancy motorhome tow bar.
