My project "Ruben"

Postby JWDII » Tue Oct 11, 2016 7:50 am

Just thought I would make a thread to ask questions and show slow progress I make on this car. I wanted to ask folks thoughts on my seat material that the previous owner installed. It has grown on me and it is in great shape considering. I have matching door cards that need the holes trimmed for cranks and pulls.

Don't expect a lot of progress for a bit but I will update with more pics as I do what I can.

48, like jones said! It would have been stock restore but chit happened. It's a long story, but basically I had the pan bought before I ever knew the car was still alive. I had the pan delivered to my scrapyard along with some other great stuff as part of a deal I made. I just happened to be at the hospital with my new born son when they arrived. I got a call from my cousin that my stuff was delivered so I thought all was good. Next day I came to work only to find out there was a mistake where they were unloaded and they all got crushed and sent to the shredder #-o . True story. So to make it even better I received a call a month or so later about my split. It had been put on the 50 pan for title reasons after there dad brought it home from his service in Germany. So after getting over my disgust of all the prior events I was told by fellow forum members Loosenuts and A1Steaksauce It will never be O.G., Its already custom so you may as well lay it out and enjoy it.

With all that being said I am trying to get it running now and hope to have a beam built and put it a little closer to the ground. Drive it a while as is till funds become available for a full build. I will share that plan when the time comes!
