Well after beating my head against the wall for the weekend, Aran called up a baja builder up north from us and said its the tire size. Baja can't have 4 matching tires and be able to do freeway speeds and be stable. Anyone else hear of that?

Before I drop more cash on this car I'm going to toss on some test tires/wheels and see if that fixes it. If that does, awesome!

Just a thought but it could be tire pressure. I had new Ko2's put on my ford and it walked around like crazy on the Highway, Steering was crazy light. I drove it in the dirt and noticed only the center of the tread was dirty, I adjusted my pressure until I had the whole tread patch making contact and it drove much better.

After reading your comments and talking to guys at work, it still didn't add up that 4 matching tires would make it do what it DID. It's a stock front end, only change is the tires..width! I filled the front tires with 50psi and now it drives normal!

All better now, moral of the story, wider tires created more surface area. More air created less surface area.

Noticed that in my bus too. Used to run the tires at 32psi. Always got 17.5mpg. Went to the recommended pressure of 45psi and the mileage went to 21-22mpg at same highway speeds.
Let me draw you a fucking picture!

Interesting! It's the little things that we all know but don't think of.

Going to drive it this work week. If I'm happy with the set up, time to break it...turbo time! I see no reason not to. I have the stuff, I have the 1/2ass skill, and a car to do it to.

Turbo Subi this weekend.. Let's hope it doesn't piss me off this week!

I really want to do another German look super, that's where my love is at I think. Best bang for the buck car I've built and driven.

I'm with you guys. I'm changing steering boxes.

I'll get a video of the rear tires howling like a dog when they are spinning!

I've have a few interested guys, but not cash talking.. I'm going to keep building on it. I really want to head out to KCW with this car for some off road fun.
