Oh I know your busting my balls. I'm ok with it!!! I hear George is gearing up towards his Subi swap...

Oh yeah I might be out there next month for a few days for work. They are talking about flying me out, but if I have a load to haul I could drive..

Hey Andy,

I'm looking to swap a 2.2 subie into my '72. Are you making any parts for the swap? Definitely looking for a rear mount bar and wiring. Biggest hurdle seems to be the harness and tuning? Appreciate any help or advice. Wish I was closer to your new shop.

Thanks,

Jeff

I've made and sold several oil pans and pick up tubes. Otherwise most of my work is just per project.

Making that rear mount does suck. I'd make my next one slightly different. But anyway you hang the motor is fine.

Harness isn't bad. I can help you out with that. Send me the micro and the pig tails off the engine, I'll label them and get that done for you, then you can solder it together once you install your stuff. Program it, no problem.

Where are you at?

Definitely appreciate the offer. Got a little more to research for sure.

Will any 2.2 from 90-99 fit without hacking the engine bay? Anything else needed from the donor car besides the harness?

Is this the version you used? http://www.ebay.com/itm/MicroSquirt-Sta ... 2548.l4275

90 to 95 have dual port exhaust, 96-97 are single port.
Just keep it a 2.2 and you'll fit without cutting it up. But like most, once you drive it you'll cut anything.
Just get the engine harness for the wire pig tails, and the ignitor from the car. Mounted to the firewall.

Yes microsquirt v3, I get it from diyautotune. I'm scared of ebay electronics. Look up fake msd, fake dewalt, fake beats by dre, tons of fake shit. Buy the micro from diy with the 8' harness.

Radiator by the dimension of area you want to place it.
Fuel system, airtex e2000 works, corvette filter/regulator, 1" stainless coolant lines.

Appreciate the info Andy.

The aircooled motor needs a ton of work. Can't see putting that kinda $ into it to still have 70hp. Plus I want to road trip it and not be constantly tuning carbs etc.
