Cool idea man. Cool you get to drive your bug. Mine is in the garage in hibernation, not pleasant to drive in 110+ degree weather.

I like how the height differential is minimal to your truck!

Welded on some 5/8" bolts and painted the mount, I still have to make some special nuts to hold it down.

Went to the vintage meet yesterday and scored some goodies. I got Hella driving lights for the Bug and pretty much everything I need for the spare 1600 to complete it. I have a 5" beam I started way back when for a Bug I don't own anymore but I'm going to finish it anyway and I found brand new derlin bushings for $10 and adjusters for $12 each. \:D/ Who knows, I my have a Bug for that beam sooner than you think. :-$

I added the fog lights this morning.

Image

I pre wired the fog light a long time ago but just never got any til now. There is a factory driving lamp idiot light in the speedo so I wired it up.

Image

I ran the lights through the bumper rubber and through a fender bolt hole which proved to be a pain in the ass.

Image

It's wired to the headlight circuit so when you click the Hi beams the fog lights go off. Not much left to do now other than to keep driving it. \:D/

That's badass. Looks great. Cool deal on the wiring to the light in the speedo.

It's pretty solid and I can let go of the wheel at speed and it tracks straight. I live on an island and 55 is pretty much all it ever sees. If there is side winds then it's 2 hand driving. I never had an alignment done at a shop, I put the fronts at about a 1/4 toe in and the rear is zero.

I've been driving the he'll out of the bug wit no issues. I added these door decals just for the hell of it. I got a few wrinkles in the decal I tried to iron out with no success. I bet nobody can guess what year the bug is by the pic.
