The Looser STRIKES BACK!

Postby fidysea » Wed Aug 19, 2015 9:35 am

Ok here is yet another build attempt. It may fail, it may fizzle but I will try to do it my way, however wrong or wacky.

I got rid of the 2 beetle 67's in one weekend and was ready for another crazy trade. I sold them cheap so I could get back to what I really wanted.

so I loaded up 4 cookie cutters in the Passat and headed to N.C.

The Passat was the best car I have ever had hands down but it was time to part with her. It needed some Tlc
I got two tickets for driving with out a current inspection sticker (cracked windshield). I couldn't really afford to fix and maintain everything it needed so I chose to buy an old Datsun truck.

Goodby Mighty Passat

911 operator: What is your emergency ? Me: Some asshole just pulled out in front of me & totaled my car! 911: Are you injured? Me: No. 911: Is the other driver injured ? Me: Not yet....but you should probably send an ambulance.

It is never too late to give up.
And to start all over with old experiences as a basis.

Didn't we watch you hammer patch panels out of washer/dryer sheet metal? That bus will be a walk in the park for you.
And to clarify, the washer/dryer comment was a Compliment to your ingenuity and ability to adapt and improvise.
Drag that thing home and to quote Dr Jones, DO WORK SON =D>

A little more respect to the Passat. It even tow barred one of the 67's to it new home so the trade could be made. I hope its new owner gives it the love it deserves.

The new Bus has a lot of issues or I wouldn't have it. It has frame rust. #-o
I am going to have to fix/ patch it.

It also doesn't have much of a cargo floor. ](*,)

But I have way more access to free scrap steel than I used to. Smile

Belly pans....a bullet nose double door? Nice score! Looking forward to seeing you tackle it with your usual resourcefulness!

Double door?

Fix it right so it is safe. That rust isn't superficial.

Yeah its a Double Door. \:D/

Its also missing one of the spring plates ] #-o #-o #-o #-o
](*,) ](*,) ](*,) ](*,) ](*,) ](*,) ](*,)

it makes moving it very problematic.

it wont roll. :-({|=

getting it moved and home was some interesting engineering. that story is to come.
all my projects have issues with rolling at first. That's always the first goal
R O L L

does anyone have a single spring plate? I need one bad.
