My 67 project

Postby Speshel k » Sun Feb 08, 2015 12:50 pm

Finally figured an easy way to post pics using my iPad so I can finally add something to the this site! This is my latest project and first resto on a type 2. I just finished installing a new harness and I am closing in on the completion of the motor. Plan is to keep it stock with exception of a slightly larger motor.

Making a little room:

All OG Jalousie's cleaned up as best I could. Need to find interior trim for them;

All wiring works even using the 9 pin relay.

My daughter added some disco flava to the interior;

911 operator: What is your emergency ? Me: Some asshole just pulled out in front of me & totaled my car! 911: Are you injured? Me: No. 911: Is the other driver injured ? Me: Not yet....but you should probably send an ambulance.

Couple more updates! Motor is installed and I am starting to work on the interior! Looking for help on best place to research for a 67. I'm having trouble figuring out how the interior cabinets are connected to the bus. May I also say I have driven a shitpile of cars in my day and nothing compares to how fun driving the bus is!!

Seats will be changed soon. Interior thoughts?

So here are some updates on my pop top. I purchased this kit from space roofs in the U.K. Finally got around to working on this little project. Quality is very nice and since there is very little out there on how to do this, I've been simply researching photos and figuring it out. Currently waiting on some insulation to complete the roof before I reinstall the wood. Now is the time to finish all the interior wiring. Hoping to have all this done before end of the month so I can cruise down to the compound and help Franz. I'm looking for a couple latches so I can pull the top down and push up if anyone has a couple for sale.

Canvas is just hanging right now. Looks like it will fit perfectly.
Image
These are the lag screws to connect the wood at the top. Found stainless steel nuts and bolts to avoid the rust hopefully.
