details

Postby alykat » Thu Mar 17, 2011 6:16 am

I'm still fuzzy on a lot of the little details on the earlier bugs. Did 54 have the bullet turn lights on the side of the front fenders ? If so, what years did that start and end ?
911 operator: What is your emergency ? Me: Some asshole just pulled out in front of me & totaled my car! 911: Are you injured? Me: No. 911: Is the other driver injured ? Me: Not yet....but you should probably send an ambulance.

Any VW 55 and earlier has semis...the exceptions are; the super-late 55 US market beetle, and the post barndoor 55 bus.

Bullet turn signals on a beetle are a super-late 55-57 thing

Gotcha. Then does that mean that if this cars a 54 it has the wrong fenders, or am I just seeing something that is not there ?

The bullets are scabbed onto the og fenders to get an inspection sticker back in the day.

So Franz,
What would a complete front beam and spindles set me back for this bus?

$850 gets you a caster beam, flipped spindles, and tie rods.....all of the hard fab work done, ready for you to assemble with new brake parts.

You have to send me your core stuff to modify. I need spindles, springs, center blocks, and center pin housing. Heres a good thread on that:

Great Bus!! =D> =D> Looks like it has a twin right behind it and maybe a Panel as well. Great thing about a Bus like that is that it looks great with no body work \:D/ \:D/

Panel is a crusty fuckered up turd with no steam coming off.
But it is a double door!
And the engine turns over
The other deluxe is a 67 and not too bad.
They both are for sale is someone is interested.
