As per Paul and JJ's instructions...."treat this like a personal project".....Paul is turning this super
solid 55' into a solid driver.... Smile Smile...get it back out there living the life it was MADE to do...drive, drive, drive.... =D> =D> =D> =D>

Sounds good to me. Drive drive drive. Fuck ya that's all I do is drive my bus like I stoll it. Daily fixin every little bit sounds good but shire can get spendy. Ex specially when you want a drive not a show queen.

Gotcha I am fortunate to be able to do my own metal work and forget there is a cost in doing it.

Knocked out drivers dog leg yesterday afternoon, as well as getting the floor section fit.

Finished floor section this morning. Had to fab up a lower door seal channel section as well.

Same story on the pass side. Floor section and seal channel this afternoon.

Pass fender was pulled out and stretched. Cut a couple of relief's, clamped it straight with some heavy steel, welded up.

Nice and straight. Started trimming for rocker section as well.

I finished up short side rear rocker section. Bent up a closing panel section for the fender well. Fitting nicely and ready to burn in.

I saw Paul last night on his way home. He had this bus hooked up to a tow bar behind his doka vanagon. The spitcase transaxle in the 55 locked up. He said he was going to use AAA to get it home. Bummer. I hope the transaxle had oil in it.

I was thinking yesterday.... I wanted to comment on this work..

This bus's metal work was different than most.. as we were keeping as much original metal as possible... It took much longer to dissect out shit and Pat even dissected some shit from the shorty out back... I could have replaced ALOT more metal in just barely more time if you know what I mean... like just cutting out jackpoints and outriggers and some of the top hats and start replacing... Just sayin... :-k :-k :-k :-k :-k :-k :-k :-k :-k :-k :-k
