Driving that motor in the Baja with a single 44 and huge tires will make it feel like it has been neutered. If you want better drivability and less fuss than IDA's get a pair of 44's.

A proper sand seal needs the case machined. The ones that install in a stock case are worthless.

You are going to need headlights now. Maybe these in the original narrow eye holes? I'm sure there are some sort of chinese copies on ebay.

Baja Designs has some cool shit. But they are a company that caters to the elite adventure rider. Always been expensive. 10 years ago, I would buy there dual sport kits for making dirt bikes road legal. They were $600.00 dollars then. Hate to see what they want now.
Let me draw you a fucking picture!

Indeed. I just punched one out of my Ghia engine and used a JayCee steel hub labyrinth pulley instead.

The weather is going to be warm in no time John was saying Baja time. I think that sounds like So much fun I'm looking at bugs everyday might have found a Baja I'll know in the morning. I'd like to do a mango and black version of the sand scorcher. Stickers and everything just on a 71 or so bug. Also maybe a roll bar. I think we should get a bunch of buggies and Baja and hit the desert! =D>

Great picture ! This is what weekends are ment to be like. Maybe if John will let himself do more of these it will help reduce his back troubles. \:D/
911 operator: What is your emergency ? Me: Some asshole just pulled out in front of me & totaled my car! 911: Are you injured? Me: No. 911: Is the other driver injured ? Me: Not yet....but you should probably send an ambulance.
