Sounds kool time to go out and test the cold start. Tuts is my biggest problem choke is stiff as can be. I put a pic 30 on it. Works ok when it warms up but just ok just not happy with the single carb time to order some kadrons and put this motor in my bus. And put the 2276 in the Baja. Think I'll do that today. Then work on the shocks :-k

U trading motors from you bus :-& \:D/ u don't need that big motir in a baha. Maybe do a carb kit single webber. Keep the motor in the bus for Moab trips. Ain't the front end of the baja fiberglass. But that's my 2 cents

I think there's going to be a new rule.... "when Gretchen comes, she has to bring her own, extra tie rods"- perhaps pink! This Baja is nearly indestructible! LOVE IT!!!!!!! Thanks to my super handy husband, or fun will continue!!!!!! \:D/ \:D/ \:D/ \:D/ \:D/

Basic field repair. =D>
911 operator: What is your emergency ? Me: Some asshole just pulled out in front of me & totaled my car! 911: Are you injured? Me: No. 911: Is the other driver injured ? Me: Not yet....but you should probably send an ambulance.

3/4" solid with drilled and tapped ends? Maybe it would yank the threads out instead of bending?
Andy In Modesto

Maybe Subaru parts could fix it?

Dam buddy you've been getting crazy! I've got mine running good stopping ok all lights but brake lights. The coil over buggy shocks suck they rattle like hel and make tons of noise so need to order shocks tomorrow. Wink

That 1600... assuming thats what it is.. felt more than adequate for dirt.. but I doubt I'd be doing any wheelies with it.. :-# :-# :-# :-# :-# :-# it goes faster than I need or want to go... ever.... and I would be a lot more hesitant o beat on a good 2 liter.. [-X [-X [-X [-X or tell any one to just go out do laps with it... [-( [-( [-( [-( [-( [-( [-( [-( [-( [-( I need to rethink this oval motor swap thing.. :-$ :-$ :-$ :-$ :-$ :-$

But damn I wanna go to the sand and do some wheelies... #-o #-o #-o #-o #-o #-o #-o

Narrow paddles that are shorter than the dirt tire you have will work fine in the sand with the 1600. You won't be climbing the biggest dune, but you'll have a blast.
Back in the day, I did just fine with aired down dirt tire with a 1500 SP.
