Should be landing end September and then registered & driving Down Under. Hopefully, I can make it to her first Aussie VW meet at Old Bar.....

I'll post up photos when the time comes \:D/

It's gotta be killing you waiting 3 months for your truck to arrive.

10 years, John? I should still be here..... The truck survived 55 years so another 10 won't matter. Bring your Westy so we got somewhere to sleep and we can load the truck up with beer, bourbon and good old Aussie Bundaberg rum. Oh, and kangaroo steaks on the barbie.....

Of course, you're not. I was just kidding with you about bringing the Westy over......

I love traveling and visiting other countries - UK & Europe are awesome. So many differences in culture, language, food, architecture (and beer O:) ) all in a compact geographical area. You can drive through 3 countries in one day.....

markus' 59 SC

Postby KombiMadness » Sat Oct 04, 2014 2:37 am

Well, after catching the train at 5am to go 4 hours to Newcastle, I picked up my new SC and drove it home 3 hours. I had an unregistered vehicle permit, checked the oil and hoped there'd be no mechanical issues..... It was all good except after reaching operating temp, the motor kept stalling at traffic lights. So I had to use the old brake, rev, brake, rev, handbrake (e brake) and rev while waiting for the green light, trick - for 3 hours :-({|=
John, I love the truck she is a gem...... Here's a few photos parked out front of my place after I got home.
Dan's SC is now down under and is now well & truly Markus' SC \:D/
