I just ran break-in on this bad mother. It sounds awesome. You are going to be stoked when you get it back Joe. I also ordered some parts to fix the oil system. Its now simplified with the deletion of external pressure regulators(the engine has its own pressure regulator) not sure what we were thinking back when this car was built :-k ](*,) ???

Notice check valves installed to prevent oil cooler drain-back and resulting air bubbles. Tomorrows project is plumbing conversion.... I ran break-in today with a janky oil cooler/filter set-up.

Restrictive bulkhead fittings removed, and oil coolers T'd to shorten loop/pressure.

I got the last oil hose and installed it yesterday. looking good.

I used this gadget to bleed the oil coolers. The PVC holds about 2 quarts of oil. 20psi worked nicely.
Image

Then, I stared it up for the first time on its own system. Damn, blew the oil filter.

And made a gigantic mess.

I reinstalled the Jaycee bypass filter adapter.
Waiting on napa to deliver a new K&N hp3001 oil filter.

Just finsihed running + tuning. Zero leaks, crispy as hell. Running a engle 120 cam now.

The oil system is the best it can be. Oil light goes out with 1 second of cranking. Builds pressure instantly. The check valves will keep the cooler system isolated while not running = no drain back or air bubbles. The "T'd" oil coolers shortens the loop and load on the system. The Jaycess bypass oil filter adapter keeps the cold start up pressure from from damaging the coolers and filter.
