56 whistlebritches

This is a 56 oval I got late last summer.. A friend of mine starting working on it/ buying it, and has decided he can't finish up the deal.. So here it is up for grabs..

Super clean oval.. Lots of OG black paint. Really nice patina. Looks like the back of the car has been touched up for some reason. Interior has been gutted out for replacement, but all seats there.. Dash looks OG, OG keys, all original metal on car, fenders etc.. Looks like everything works, starts up and runs good, even with it 10 degree's outside!! Has an original beam thats been narrowed 7", dropped spindles, adjusted in the back. 145/65 fronts, 205/60's in the rear. 5 spokes.. Stock 36 horse motor.. wiring is not original but seems to work fine.

Nice start to a sweet little oval. Heater channels are super dry and original and look to be when VW was swapping over from 56/57 heater vents up front.. One side is 56, one is 57.. Weird.. and only car I have ever seen this in!

I prefer cash, bank check will work, even a credit card if you must.. but that costs me 3% right off the top to the bank. I have a clean colorado title.

a few pics.. It's still thawing out in the dirty shop for some better pics.

a few more pics.. Heater channels are damn clean, but there is one silver dollar size hole on pass side... look at the next to the last pic and you can see the heater channel vents.

Runs drives, stops, lights work etc.. Good car.. Not sure I would fly in and drive home but would trust it around town till I went over it real good.. Choke works good too!!

Yup... Still at John's place. Gonna get some TLC from the crew. I really dig all that Patina. Think I'll roll it around and enjoy the car that way a while. My ego wants the full resto job, but my soul wants to enjoy the process slowly. I'd be the guy to fly in and make a road trip out of it all. Let's see... Grand Junction to Vegas (7 hours)..... 36 Horse time: (1 Day).
Jason, that looks like a fun Oval you've got. Ever make the trip from Rivertuckey to Vegas??? Let me know bro. Gary

I think it's hard not to have fun in a dub. Mine is a rusty POS and it's still fun, can't wait to get the ody fixed and painted.

I have fun in all my VWs too. Just last weekend, I laid 2 fat black stripes up the hill behind my house in the Sloval. Now THAT is fun!@
