It is different, lot of hard work in it, and I kind of like it. But does it have reverse ? Or do you just pop it in neutral, hop out and push it backwards, hop back in, put it in gear and go ?
911 operator: What is your emergency ? Me: Some asshole just pulled out in front of me & totaled my car! 911: Are you injured? Me: No. 911: Is the other driver injured ? Me: Not yet....but you should probably send an ambulance.

Looks like the engine is mounted inline and mated with a regular transmission.
Let me draw you a fucking picture!

Did anyone else catch the obituaries in the December 2013 Hot VW's FYI section. The guy who bought death passed away.

Wonder if it will be up for sale again.

no, currently John's collection is not being split up or sold. this includes 'death'

the museum/hall it resides in is being left as is for the time being.

I think that is why I always liked Death and Howards Volksrod they were low and cut but right to the tasteful limit, that green car is just stupid ,sorry, just my opinion. But hey its not mine after all and as long as the owner fits, great. He probably is about as big as Scott climbing out of Death in that KCW video a few years back or maybe he lays in it like an Olympic skeleton or luger or something.
Let me drop what Im doing and fix your problem

Question for FRANZ:
When you see a car that's either poorly done or just really stupid, and people think it's Death, is it flattering or infuriating? Or something else?

I dunno. I don't want to act like what I build is better.

But I agree, there is a fine line between flow/style and fucking ridiculous.

Here is what I did with my Saturday afternoon. I have been wanting a tattoo for roughly 10 years now. But being married to a man who is not to keen to them I knew it would be controversial. I wanted to do something for Franz and not the typical tattoo such as getting his name scribbled some where on me. I could not think of a better tattoo when I walked past a picture one day in our home. Most of you know that he started and completed this build while we were dating and while I was pregnant with our son Holden. I would say this build definitely tested our relationship on top of my school/work schedule. But we survived. So I knew this was what I wanted to do. The skulls are actually from our wedding cake topper and wanted to tie those into the tattoo. So here it is! I LOVE IT! I wanted Franz to know that I will always support him even though I disagree with a lot of his car decisions. :-#
