Re: Dans Boosted Oval Rag

Ugh. Unfortunately it looks like the old body shop strikes again. Very disappointing, but it is in the rear view mirror now.

Franz, thank you for finding it and tackling it like you do! =D> =D>

Re: Dans Boosted Oval Rag

Scott, I may have to ask Franz to keep the dyno results secret so you don't increase the HP in your car before the race. [-( Kidding aside, I doubt I will make it this year, but you never know. I was in Charleston for Easter and if I was not over scheduled, I would have reached out to catch up. You ...

Re: Dans Boosted Oval Rag

I can't wait to see it. \:D/ \:D/ \:D/

I am trying to determine a time to fly out. May is almost filled. I will work on a few dates this weekend.

Re: Dans Boosted Oval Rag

Franz, you must have good luck not to get written up! [-o< [-o< And he was a VW guy to boot! When I was driving my 65 Beetle in High School, I was pulled over and was not happy about it. I had my girlfriend, now wife, in the car. I opened up the door quickly and got out. He pulled his gun, pointed i...

Re: Dans Boosted Oval Rag

Franz, car is looking amzing!! =D> =D> Sounds like it will be running like a fine Swiss watch after you're done with it! Is she ready for the dyno?

Looking forward to visiting next month to meet the KCW team and taking the oval for a spin. \:D/ \:D/

Re: Dans Boosted Oval Rag

Franz, I thought they advertised that it can be mounted on it's side, but you have to tell the battery that it is sideways. I may be thinking of a different battery, but I haven't spent a lot of time researching smart batteries.

Re: Dans Boosted Oval Rag

21views, I am definitely not driving the oval back to Philadelphia. The oval will come home in a nice covered car carrier so it arrives clean, shiny and ready to go. \:D/ \:D/ Franz, I doubt I can get out there this month, but early May is looking pretty good. If things change and we can come out so...

Re: Dans Boosted Oval Rag

Franz, let's talk about doing a shake down on the Oval. I would like to fly out there to meet you all, once the car is all done, etc. My wife has friends in Grand Junction so she would probably join me for the trip. I am sure we are going to need a few hours to go over some of the details of the car...

Re: Dans Boosted Oval Rag

Scott, the color change was all John. =D> =D> It took me awhile to come around. I was the one that picked Iroc Electric Blue. The color is actually from a Lancia Beta late 70s and really shouldn't have been as bright as it was. I guess like the restoration of the car from the old body shop, they mus...

Re: Dans Boosted Oval Rag

Franz, looking and sounding good! =D> =D>

John, this oval has been under construction for almost 12 years. 6 months at KCW and the rest at the old body shop. ](*,)

Re: Dans Boosted Oval Rag

Justin, thank you. The entire top of the battery hold down is metal too. This was done by the old body shop, not a KCW setup. The thought of being able to turn off the battery via a smartphone is nice. No power drain, can't be driven away, etc.

Re: Dans Boosted Oval Rag

Franz, glad to see you're back on the oval! \:D/ \:D/ I saw the mention of a smart battery by Indura Power on Ben's thread. Could you look into one of these for the oval? As you know, I am not thrilled with the battery mounting that is in place now, i.e. metal support, under rear seat with metal spr...

Re: best friday ever

Franz, nice score! =D> =D> I am shocked that you found something in such reasonably good condition as it is 2017. \:D/ \:D/ I can relate to driving the Honda to work as you don't have to worry about it at all, but I am not messing with Mrs. Muhr on this topic. Please hand her the matches when the ti...
