Be careful with the fuel. We filled a 55 gallon drum at a gas station before a race once so we didn’t have to pay track prices. Shit load of water in the fuel. Out of commission for 4 hrs diagnosing/ fixing the problem.
You guys will be begging for some cool suits after about an hour in the car, hahaVwsarent4hippiesParticipantMay 11, 2018 at 5:05 pmPost count: 33Vwsarent4hippiesParticipantMay 11, 2018 at 8:00 amPost count: 33Vwsarent4hippiesParticipantMay 4, 2018 at 7:19 pmPost count: 33Vwsarent4hippiesParticipantMay 4, 2018 at 3:49 pmPost count: 33Vwsarent4hippiesParticipantMay 1, 2018 at 6:56 pmPost count: 33Vwsarent4hippiesParticipantMay 1, 2018 at 6:02 pmPost count: 33
Why haven’t you bought this yet?Vwsarent4hippiesParticipantApril 26, 2018 at 11:09 amPost count: 33
Damn! 10k didn’t matt already write the file or however that shit works? Seems we need need to get a fellow VW junkie slash machinist to get excited about these at least for the prototype trial and error portion!!
If an operator at my work ran a file from an outside source in a mill, they’d be fired faster than you can blink. Crashing a $250k machine doesn’t make friendsVwsarent4hippiesParticipantApril 16, 2018 at 7:30 amPost count: 33Vwsarent4hippiesParticipantApril 15, 2018 at 3:54 pmPost count: 33Vwsarent4hippiesParticipantApril 15, 2018 at 11:40 amPost count: 33
Hard to tell if that’s actually cracked, or it just wasn’t installed properly to begin with? Either way, there are a lot of shitty ones on there market. Make sure your replacement is either NOS or made out of viton. I think Airhead parts has the viton versionVwsarent4hippiesParticipantApril 13, 2018 at 12:36 pmPost count: 33Vwsarent4hippiesParticipantApril 3, 2018 at 12:22 amPost count: 33Vwsarent4hippiesParticipantApril 3, 2018 at 12:09 amPost count: 33
I went to NC for the weekend and worked on this a little! I picked up the new engine and got it installed with some help from the animals. Still need to get a couple things for the engine compartment to finish it up, but I ran out of time for this trip.
I need an air cleaner for a 1500 option bus. It would be the late 64-67 style, but the carb elbow goes to the left instead of the right. Anybody have a set up?
