How long does it take to do that particular job ? Just blast and paint engine tin ? I probably should drop the engine out and do it on my 74, but just can’t seem to get excited about the project.

or drop it off at your nearest powder coater, it will be transformed and look great.

you still have to pull everything off, but once it’s done so much nicer to assemble

Crickets . bring an old stock setup with you to install and roll it out of here.

this seems like the easiest to do.

i wouldn’t sweat that they want to finish, just as longh as they know it’s not rolling and they need to plan for that when they grab it

    turned out great though

I headed to FL this weekend to buy my first aircooled VW back from my buddy, ruby red 62. Just something about a good solid bug! I’ll post some pictures when it’s on the trailer.

awesome, it’s a neat feeling owning one you owned before.

in my case i cut the dash to fit a modern stereo, lol

things we did back then that we wouldnt do now

Congrats on the retirement, JJ. Many people slave away until their last day and never get that chance to enjoy the fruits of their labor; it’s quite an accomplishment that you can chose to work when, or even if, you want to at a relatively young age. As a long time admirer and past KCW customer, it does make me a little sad it’s happened this way. Along with your skills, Franz and Pat’s talents were a big part of lots of people’s VW dreams (mine included). I hope you all get what you want out of life, and wish you and the both of them nothing but the best in the future.

    well said

best of luck in the future
