Nice.    I’m still trying to source a RHD speedo tube (I gonna give up).   Thanks John.

I know a guy… he’ll make that speedo cable tube out of a used inside out hard brake line and you’ll think it;s NOS..  😉  😉  😉

Serious conversation was had last night:  (John is going to hate this).

Without sparing you the hassle of all the details…………..This car will not be dove blue.    My compromised position was still staying true to a 1956 VW bug or 356 PreA color.

Our best bet for color at this point is either:  Silver Metallic or Graphite Metallic (both 1956 Porsche colors).    This would be matched with Mocha (dark brown) Leather interior and a Black Stayfast Top, Black components, steering column, etc..

I know there are a bunch of haters of metallic…..but……these Porsche colors aren’t really metallic……there are a super, super fine metallic.    Hey John, once you get done saying “What the f*&^!”, can you make a color spray-outs of these colors for me to look over?

    That is all……..

Light Brown Mohair headliner, Shiny black steering column,  black vert mechanism, Satin black finish seat frames, charcoal carpeting, Bamboo parcel tray……

Still noodling some of this around……..

Hey Franz…..did you see a vert dome light in the pile of junk.    When I bought it, the guy said it was in there……..but I didn’t see one but didn’t look that close either.       I’m just trying to figure out the stuff that we still need to source beyond decklid and decklid mounts.   I think we have most everything needed.

    huh 😉

The Jamaican Maple guy texted me yesterday with a barrage of questions about my vert.   It made me think more about some of the additional details about the build.    I just threw them on the site.

I forgot about Josh’s beam…. yeah… pretty baller.. 😉 hard to beam aluminum…. Matt… Can we do a carbon fiber beam?

We could do a CF beam…that would be next-level fo sho!!!  Probably not torsions though..too brittle…they would more than likely break.

Sand witch Kevlar between the carbon layers, that would give flex and strength too. Have to be laminated though I would think.

Maybe CF through rods and a single air bag! Should stay pretty freaking light and strong even though I’m more of a static guy myself.

How would we make the carbon fiber uprights?  And.. Would the towers hold up??  dunno.. Probably be FINE on a show car that sits in a garage or trailer most of it’s life.. 😕

What colors again Tom?  The graphite metallic like my old 55 vert had was pretty awesome… Josh’s car is that color too…  I’m cool with a metallic Tom.. I wanted to clear coat this for you anyway..

Next thing I need to do is dust off the new hood and all the places I worked on the shell… but my master blaster has gone awol… 🙄 🙄 🙄   so I guess I’m gonna have to do it myself..  Maybe I should hire me a helper for the dirty shop.. 😉 😉   Someone I can pay like $15 an hour… and will do what I ask and blast and work….. hummm  or not… Just man up and do it.. 😉 😉
