You guys remember this. I sold it to a friend over a year ago. He wasn’t inclined to finish it, so I bought it back.I purchased the kit in Grand Junction when I was staying up there. That was 2014, now it’s five years later. Should be flying this Sunday. I’ll try to get some video to post up.

Cmon Man! There ain’t any water in AZ to land on!!!!!
Jealous!!!! We have to travel for it, but there’s plenty of water Rusty. Lake Havasu has a big float fly in November every year, my club’s favorite site now days is Canyon Lake by Apache Junction. Then there are various spots from cattle ponds to small reservoirs we can fly from.
Funny, when I was stationed in Tacoma, with water around every bend, I wasn’t interested in flying from water. But move to the dry desert, and it became a quest to find flyable water locations.

Here’s my latest craigslist find. Tamiya Monster Beetle from 1986. She’s a runner. Been chasing the dog with it daily and tearing up the flower beds.
The original owner boxed it up after 8 battery packs were run through it because of a diff clicking issue. He thought something had broke. It’s a really common issue with this platform (Blackfoot, Monster Beetle, and Frog) where the spider gears jump a tooth or two under load . MIP and Thorpe had a heavy duty diff replacement that was an upgrade. I’ve also heard it can be fixed with some shims using the stock diff.
It came with the Airtronics XL2P radio, manuals, lightning bolt charger with the timer dial, etc..
