Glad you found a buyer quickly. I know hurts, but I hear there is something in the same colors with one less door on the way.
You’re right…there is something on the way to make new memories with. And this particular bus has a LONG history of family and travel. Hopefully we can carry on the traditions.PeteParticipantApril 15, 2018 at 9:04 pmPost count: 471

Is it a good thing or a bad thing, that I can always find 50 more things wrong with a car that just needs “tuned up”?JdawgParticipantMay 10, 2018 at 8:34 amPost count: 406
good thing for the customer because when KCW is done with a “tune up” the car is dialed and driveable…bad thing for you because it eats up time and creates more work lolFranzKeymasterMay 10, 2018 at 9:01 amPost count: 1533
Funny. Some guys love that we dial their whole machine or have the ability to. The green/cream oval window is well taken care of.
Some guys only want the one thing fixed. When we call up and tell them an entire list, they seem to get frustrated. Its not like we’re trying to make the job bigger. I just don’t want to do things twice or waste time. We’re trying to give you the best product we can.
Yes it is expensive. But what good is a car let to sit with other problems?
We have a 68 beetle like that right now. Its been shop to shop to get one thing fixed at a time….Now, the entire car is a mess. Its been sitting new for 15 years. The “new” engine seals are dried/cracked and leaking oil. Its going to take a week of work to straiten everything out.
Pat pushed it in a couple days ago to have a look and make a list of needed repairs. I called the guy to let him know whats up. Told him all the issues and he shut me down, like I was milking the job. It kind of got me upset, and killed motivation. Maybe we can try again in June. Or wait until he comes to the shop to let him see all of the problems in person.JdawgParticipantMay 10, 2018 at 10:05 amPost count: 406
I for one loved the fact that you were looking for every little thing on my car…I mean I asked for that…but if you found more that I didn’t realize I would’ve been fine with that. Why would anyone take their car to the best place on earth to get a VW fixed and not want it actually FIXED? lame!barefootdriverParticipantMay 10, 2018 at 10:15 amPost count: 144
That mentality sucks; they bitch that you’re milking it, then bitch again if you fix one thing and another thing breaks soon after ?JdawgParticipantMay 10, 2018 at 10:42 amPost count: 406
its a 68….tell him its junk, buy it for $500 and make it a Baja! lolKleakeParticipantMay 10, 2018 at 1:36 pmPost count: 444
Sometimes a small thing snowballs, oil leak = new bad ass stroker motor.??? I myself would rather deal with a snowball ,rather than a Shit storm later ???
KCW doesn’t do half ass work . Keep it up boysJohn JonesKeymasterMay 11, 2018 at 10:01 amPost count: 3170
Maybe we have to just bite our tongue and do what they want… build a relationship with them, gain their trust, then they will understand and not question everything.. Especially when they are back for something you suggested the last time. 😎
