009 dizzy rebuild and some other stuff planned for Ron’s rig today.FranzKeymasterJanuary 2, 2018 at 6:53 pmPost count: 1232
Got Rusty’s rig on lift and opened the decklid to this. I think I’ll push it back outside and wash it.
Jesse’s uber expensive german brake parts arrived from WW, I cleaned and coated them with black epoxy. Ready for assembly tomorrow.RustabusParticipantJanuary 2, 2018 at 7:12 pmPost count: 681

My spa day at KCW included, NEW FUEL LINES (do this folks, don’t wait) beak adjustment, lube job, a fresh new super awesome 009 distributer, fixed an air leak, valve job and carb adjustment… now my bus is running better than ever! But the best part was pushing my brothers bus out of the clean shop and pulling mine in! lol As always I cant thank Franz and KCW enough for the hospitality and hard work. They take the time that is needed and just do a damn good job for everyone who comes in.DarioParticipantJanuary 3, 2018 at 7:30 pmPost count: 122
DAMN Rusty, new clutch, new fuel line, new throw out bearing, new thrust bearing, you’re gonna think you’re driving someone else’s bus!!!RustabusParticipantJanuary 3, 2018 at 8:00 pmPost count: 681
Hell Yeah!!!!!! 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 So, what the hell did I have in there for a clutch, throw out arm, Spring, and throw out bearing??? That was all new shit but why was it soooooo hard to push!!!!! I was broken down on a road trip and I had to throw in whatever they had at the shop in Phoenix last year to get back on the road again!!!?? 😀 😀 😀RustabusParticipantJanuary 3, 2018 at 8:38 pmPost count: 681
Unless I get snowed out before BBB , I’m planning on bringing down my Single for its Spa Treatment!!!!!!!!! Franz said a while back that my brakes were on their last leg ( He’s totally lying cuz they are Awesome in my book!) 😉 😉 But, Just in case, I got some new shit from CIP to pach it up!!!! 😀 😀 😀DarioParticipantJanuary 3, 2018 at 8:39 pmPost count: 122
All I’m saying is somebody screwed something up, Franz had to have the flywheel turned and took a minute to dial in!!!RustabusParticipantJanuary 3, 2018 at 9:35 pmPost count: 681
Uh, Somebody is Me!!!!!!! I pulled my engine in the parking lot at Doug’s Bugs with a bad clutch, fork, arm etc……..Replaced everything by myself with my crappy travel tool kit and back together again! Surprised it was good for a year!! Glad to have KCW to sort out my Bullshit!!!!!DarioParticipantJanuary 3, 2018 at 9:41 pmPost count: 122
Hey Rusty I snagged a sticker for you to put on your bus when you get here, still looking for the right spot.DarioParticipantJanuary 3, 2018 at 9:45 pmPost count: 122
I sound like you, the guy in the parking lot always trying to sort out my shit with cheap sending units and other cheap parts I’ve accumulated over the years right Franz 😉John JonesKeymasterJanuary 4, 2018 at 7:07 amPost count: 2561
every item in the clutch system was less than perfect. 😈 😈 😈 and just waiting to be a problem…FranzKeymasterJanuary 4, 2018 at 9:13 amPost count: 1232
The flywheel was glazed. See those two blue/black spots. Resurfaced.
Then I noticed the throw-out bearing was off-center because the set screw on the back was loose.
Whats up with that fancy wire tie clip hanger? You got a new throw-out bearing because the old one was getting loose/noisy. Clevis pin on the pedal was dry and worn. Bowden tube was kinked at the end and had too many spacers. Clutch pressure plate was China. I installed a HD sach/brazil.
