Is being swing axle part of the rules?? Or you have a spare trans Incase an axle breaks? A lot of work to fix a broken axle..IRS upgrade after the race?
Swing axle is lighter and stronger.
Class 11 rules state the body/pan/suspension must match years.
68 is a unique year because its the first of the late body/bumpers, but still has the swing axle. It looks like an IRS car. Incognito style.
This project has been awesome. I can’t wait to see the finished product. True KCW details going into it!!
Pat just posted this on Facebook! That’s a lot of miles! Getting real
We have homework to do planning the pit stops and chase truck.
We’re all up early sanding. Just got back from breakfast at Southside diner. Today is the day to paint the inside/backsides.
Jesse James just posted your chase truck for sale this morning on instagram! @popeofwelding
Sounds like we need to order fuel. I figure 15 gallon at 3 pit stops plus 15 gallons to start. 60 gallons. VP Racing fuel eco96 should fit class spec.
I’m planning two 7 gallon fuel jugs to refuel.
I am not sure how VP distributes the fuel at the race. Do we need to supply our own storage? Kartek has 15 gallon utility jugs that we could strap in the truck.
Or do we do we get a slip tank with electric pump for the truck and not have to carry any jugs.
KCW doing work! This is going to be epic! So fun to follow! Thanks.
sanding on the shell this morning… going to 2K prime it next… then it’s time to start painting dove grey… I’m gonna just do all three area’s in one session… engine bay, trunk and inside.. which is ok on a pan off.. but this one I gotta work around that and the cage. it’s gonna be a bear. anyway.. I hope to get that done today! or I should say tonight…
The parts came out fucking awesome!!!!!! Man this is gonna be a good looking car!!!!!
Peet Ordered the “Rugged Radio” for the chase truck this morning…
Luck is when preparation and opportunity meet.👊
Kind of funny that we are so busy working that the website is dead.
Feeling really good about everything. Though, we still have a mountain of obstacles to overcome.
The car is fully mocked up, we have thought about and fit everything *I think*
Marathon baja champion wheels just arrived. I am happy. They are very nice condition. No rust pits. OG paint on the backsides even. I ordered 3 front tires and 2 rear tires for now. I have an extra set of the exact same wheels and tires that we can use for spares.
JJ laid some wet paint on flat metal. Killer.
