Should be next week sometime. We can think about building engines the next time you are here.Critter1ParticipantFebruary 6, 2018 at 7:55 amPost count: 154
When are the “KCW takes on Baja 500” T-shirts coming out? Sell em for some extra coin for the project. I’d pay $40 for a shirt knowing its helping out the cause! …Because you don’t already have enough going on…. 😆
Justin..... that's Justin in Spanish.BBWBParticipantFebruary 6, 2018 at 10:19 amPost count: 459

What he said.
I'm at the age where "fuck off", "fuck you", and "fuck it" answer most questions.66beaterParticipantFebruary 6, 2018 at 11:05 amPost count: 58

Cole…. I was thinking how Baja driving is like good body work… Gotta look for the Highspots Edges Ledges and Potholes (highspots, edges, lowspots, Pinholes) 😉 😉 😉 😉
You need to drive SST… really… You do… 😉ColeBParticipantFebruary 9, 2018 at 1:44 pmPost count: 490
SST looks awesome! I’d love to drive it. Maybe next year after I get some practice driving in Baja…. hahaFranzKeymasterFebruary 10, 2018 at 3:27 pmPost count: 1312
So I’m thinking about the team and pre-running, planning and all of that. I’m thinking about the navigation. We’re going to need two navigation units. One for the chase truck and one for the car. Which means that we’ll have two units available to use for pre-running. I think we should break into two teams for those days and concentrate on certain sections. Take notes, find alternative routes and stuff. We talked about using some razors to pre-run in. It sounds like we’ll need two razors with 4 seats? That would be room for 8 rides. 4 driver’s and 4 co-driver’s. Which would be an ideal set-up for 1000, but limit seat time in the 500 to 6 hours each. That also means that we’ll have 6 people minimum on the chase during the race. We’ll have one 4 door truck with the race trailer for pit stops, and probably another 4 door truck that was used to get the said razors to baja. That is room for 10 people max on the chase..
That said, JJ just hired Pat K back, and he is kind of a shoe-in if you guys want to have him and he wants to go? We can talk more about that later
Here is the current confirmed team members:

Class 11 parts are here. Two identical engine cases. Same deck. Four OG heads, all the same valves/springs/retainers and the same combustion chamber CC. Two standard direct drilled cranks, with 8 dowel flywwheels. The idea is that we’ll have a back-up engine, and if there is a problem with the back-up, we’ll be able to swap parts (i.e. head) to keep going without having to figure out deck or rocker geometry. Quick change.
Welded diff so that both rear tires are spinning all the time. Good for digging through the silt or on obstacles where one of the rear tires may not have traction.
