Yesterday my transmission was making noise when I pulled out of Flagstaff. This morning it sounded real bad in neutral. Think a main shaft bearing or something is gone. Got to pull motor and get it checked out. While I’m in there got to get a stronger pressure plate on the clutch. Hopefully be ready for BBB.

Working on it. Tonight I pulled the wire harness and fuel lines. I was running all day a work, so was to gassed to go much farther. I’ll have it out tomorrow.

Got a heavier pressure plate coming, also a 17mm sway bar. Then I traded Pat Peet a bike chain for a type 3 engine lid. I’ll weld that in while waiting for the trans to be fixed. Also going to look at relocating the heater core up front.

Wasn’t that trans just rebuilt recently?  Hopefully it is still under warranty.

Yes it was. Hopefully the guy helps me out a bit. It’s been over a year, but less than 12,000 miles. We were talking, and he seems to think it’s a main shaft bearing. I’ll be dropping off trans to him tomorrow morning.

Got the engine hatch surround all mocked up. It’s off center for the coolant tank access. Loads more room to work now.

Talked to my transmission guy last night. Main shaft bearing took a shit. Should have it back Saturday.
