Made it home. The Moab trip was great. I had a really good time. Nice to see everyone again.
A big thank you to the Ottinger family for hosting and taking us on a tour again.
My bus ran flawlessly. I think we can call this one done. I have a few more things to do as time allows, but right now I have to concentrate on building a race car for the baja 500 in 4 weeks.barefootdriverParticipantApril 29, 2018 at 11:21 amPost count: 89
Was great to see you show up in the bus and setup camp. We got to witness you passing us last night with all the green lights switched on too 🙂barefootdriverParticipantMay 18, 2018 at 3:57 amPost count: 89
Franz, I was talking to Paul at Type 2 Detectives here in the UK to get the information to write up a feature on this bus:
(sorry for putting a Bay window on your thread)
He mentioned that they sourced long travel CV joints and can sell them for £80 each.. Might be a cheaper option than the 930 ones?FranzKeymasterMay 18, 2018 at 7:16 amPost count: 1079
Yeah, I think I know what hes talking about.
100mm thing joints are slightly wider/more operation angle than 100mm bus joints. Just barely though. I’ve been saving for the 930 cv joints and axles after baja.BBWBParticipantMay 20, 2018 at 6:45 amPost count: 422
I bet your buddy Al down the street has all the makings to fab up your own axle stubs, and flanges.
I'm at the age where "fuck off", "fuck you", and "fuck it" answer most questions.
